Plan to re-examine to exclude disqualified holders

Cairo: According to local media reports, Kuwait will begin to "filter" the driver's license issued by the majority of foreigners in the country by reviewing the holder's data and revoking the unqualified data.

The purpose of this revision is to ensure that foreign driving license holders meet the requirements in terms of qualifications and wages.

Al Jarida newspaper quoted security sources as reporting that, for example, some foreign accountants used to obtain a driver’s license on the basis of a monthly salary of Dh600 and a university degree, but later switched to another job with KD400 salary each month. . "In this case, the driver's license will be revoked," the source said.

According to sources, other unqualified holders include immigrants who obtained a driving license to work as a driver, but later transferred to a different job that did not meet the eligibility requirements.

The source added: “Unless the requirements are met, the driver’s license will not be renewed or it will be invalidated.”

When implementing the new system, the Ministry of the Interior will coordinate with the Public Human Resources Administration, which is responsible for keeping data about foreigners and can provide information about foreigners who have been transferred to new jobs and are therefore no longer eligible to retain their driving licenses. information.

The source said that in recent months, a large group of foreigners have been revoked for the same reason when applying for renewal of their driver's license, but did not provide specific figures.

The source said: "The Ministry of the Interior will give sufficient grace period to implement the new measures to avoid congestion in the transportation sector."

Foreigners account for nearly 3.4 million of Kuwait's total population of 4.6 million.
