Sateri’s Lyocell plant in Rizhao, Shandong province obtained the Sustainable Textile Production (STeP) responsible production certification, becoming the first Lyocell manufacturer in China to pass the strict standards established by the independent Swiss certification body Oeko-Tex .

Sateri's factories also received the highest level three in the certification evaluation score for the implementation of the best manufacturing practice demonstration.

In addition to the Standard 100 that passed the Oeko-Tex certification earlier, Sateri’s Lyocell products are eligible to bear the green product label manufactured by Oeko-Tex.

STeP by Oeko-Tex certification includes three levels, describing the extent to which the company achieves sustainable production and working conditions in factories in the textile industry. Assessment areas include chemical management, environmental performance, environmental management, social responsibility, quality management, and occupational health and safety.

"In addition to all of our five viscose factories that have obtained Oeko-Tex STeP certification and comply with the EU-BAT BREF for polymer emission limits, we now have the first Lyocell The factory has obtained this certification," said President Allen Zhang. "This not only reflects Sateri's unremitting pursuit of responsible manufacturing excellence, but also marks an important step towards sustainable value chain management. Sateri will continue to work together with upstream and downstream partners to realize our entire industrial chain Sustainable development."

Sateri's Rizhao plant was put into operation in May 2020, with an annual output of 20,000 tons of lyocell fiber. There is a 5,000-ton Lyocell pilot production line at the same location. In March 2021, the group announced plans to expand its overall Lyocell annual production capacity in China to 500,000 tons by 2025.
