Microsoft today released Windows 11 Dev channel build 22499, which adds the ability to quickly share the open application window on the taskbar directly with Microsoft Teams. Microsoft also announced that, based on feedback, the clock app (11.2110.32.0 and later) now supports logging in with Microsoft work and school accounts.

Regarding the new taskbar quick sharing option, it works as follows:

When you participate in a conference call through Microsoft Teams, just hover your mouse over the running application on the taskbar, and you will see a new button that allows you to share your window with meeting participants. After sharing the content, hover your mouse over the window again and click Stop sharing or select another window and click Share this window. If you want to make a full-screen presentation in PowerPoint, just move the mouse to the bottom and your taskbar will pop up, and you can share or stop sharing the presentation without disturbing the attendees.

Since the new feature has become the norm and not everyone will see it immediately, Microsoft declares the following regarding the availability of sharing tools in the taskbar application preview pop-up window:

We started to extend this experience to a subset of Windows Insiders with Microsoft Teams for Work or Schools installed, and gradually improved over time. This means that not everyone will see this immediately in their Teams call. We plan to bring it from Microsoft Teams (Microsoft Teams for home) to Chat later.

Other communication applications can also add this feature to their applications. The function of sharing a conference call is only applicable to your current conference call.

The following is a complete list of improvements in this version:

The build also brings a long list of fixes, which are always welcome. As is the case with each version, the company promises to bring many of these fixes to the publicly available version of Windows 11, but there is no timeline for when it will happen or which fixes will be included. Here are all the fixes:

The following are all known issues:

The company also provides a preview of this version of the SDK and NuGet packages for those interested. It should now be possible to provide Build 22499 for Dev channel users through Windows Update. Microsoft also provides an ISO for download, which you can get here.

Oh, and Microsoft also announced that they will start rolling out the "Shipped Windows 11" badge to Insiders in the feedback center in case you are confused.

Update: On Friday, November 12th, Microsoft released the build 22499.1010, which did not add any new content, just a cumulative update for testing the service pipeline. This version contains the same features and fixes.
