Jill of All Trades showed us a super easy way to repair a torn shirt, it only takes a few minutes!

This week, Jill Washburn, the Jill of all our industries, showed us the easiest way to repair a shirt in the world, and some people may think it is ruined. It all started with a brand new polo shirt, which came from the store and had a small piece in it. The problem is that it wears out before the slices are found, so it cannot be returned. How to do? No one wants to wear a torn shirt.

There is a small part of the fabric of this new polo.

Jill from all walks of life comes to the rescue! Jill thinks she has the perfect solution to repair the shirt, and she bet it will be easy.

Jill said she was lucky because the fabric of the shirt was not lost, it was just sliced. She can put the shirt on the table and then push the sides of the slice together and it looks good. The challenge is to maintain this state forever. Jill decided to stick a fusible surface layer on the inside of the shirt to hold the slices together.

I used a super transparent lightweight fusible finish.

Because the shirt is dark navy blue, she chose a black fusible finish. Make sure to use fusible ones, Jill said, because you want one that can be ironed, not one that can be sewn. She has a variety of options to choose from in the fabric shop. Since the Polo shirt is a "high-tech" fabric with a silky texture, she chose an ultra-light knitted fusible finish. It is very drape and has a net-like appearance. Too pure, Jill thinks that the repair cannot be detected from the front of the shirt.

Jill put the shirt on her ironing board from the inside out. She cut a small square that can easily cover the location of the slice. Jill applies glue facing down on the area to be repaired. Gil said that you will understand the bonding surface through the small dots on one side of the fabric. When you heat it, this adhesive will bond the finish to the fabric.

After everything was set up, Jill made sure that the slice was closed, facing where it should be. It's time to heat up. Jill uses the iron in the lower position. As an extra precaution, she also put a pillowcase on it to help reduce heat. Because this shirt is a high-tech fabric, Jill is afraid of using too much heat to melt the repair points. The combination of low-calorie setting and pillowcase is perfect. It gave her enough heat to fuse the fabric without damaging the shirt.

Jill spent some time checking the panel several times to make sure it was actually connected in place. Even so, it only takes a minute or two to fuse the finishes in place and complete the restoration.

Look! complete! This shirt has been repaired and put back into service! You must be very close to find the repair, and even then, it is difficult for you to detect it. An expensive shirt can be saved with less than a dollar of finish and a few minutes. Moreover, it is too easy!
